Power-user guide
Who Canvas Pilot is for
Canvas Pilot is built for people who already know how to operate local AI agents and want repeated Canvas coursework to become a reusable workflow.
Good fit
- You already use Codex, Claude Code, or similar local agent tooling.
- You can review an approval plan before letting a workflow run.
- You are willing to inspect generated drafts and reports before submission.
- Your Canvas workload has repeated weekly assignment shapes.
Not a good fit yet
- You want a hosted consumer app with account login and one-click setup.
- You do not want to run local tooling or manage local configuration.
- You expect silent auto-submit behavior by default.
- Your assignments are mostly one-off, in-person, locked, or identity-bound.
What one-command means
One-command does not mean one-click homework submission. It means the
user can start the recurring workflow with a command such as
scan canvas, review the generated plan, approve selected
work, and then inspect the resulting drafts and report.
